APPLICATION FEE AND REFUNDS

Your initial application fee is $75.00. Upon approval this amount IS APPLIED to your yearly membership fee.
If your application for certification is NOT approved $50.00 of the $75.00 dollars will be refunded to you, $25.00 dollars is NOT refundable.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

Yearly membership fee's are $275.00. This provides you with the rights to use our logo on your advertisements, free crew training, free vessel carriage requirement checks, access to certified, qualified Captain's who's license have already been checked, certified trained crew when you need crew replacements, jobs board, patches for your employee's, MMCA Certified sticker for your vessel/s and much more.

If your entire crew becomes certified you will receive a 20% discount on your yearly member fee's.

Do you agree to contact the MMCA within five days of any incident or accident involving your vessel where either the USCG or law enforcement is called. *	Yes No
Do you agree to contact the MMCA within five days of any fines against your business that are a violation of marine law? This does NOT mean that you will be removed as a member. *	Yes No
At various time the Admiralty Board (Who are also USCG Approved Instructors with at least five years experience as a Captain and Instructor) may feel it necessary to visit your business for a ride along. This is done to check the ability of the Captain, the carriage requirements, the condition of the vessel etc. IF this takes place it is done in such a manner as NOT to disrupt your business. It is never done during a private charter or a charter lasting more than four hours such as deep sea fishing. Only a member of the Admiralty Board may do these visits, they are unannounced but they will identify themselves to you once they arrive. Below please state the best time/s for this ride along to take place. Such as when you know your vessel is not very busy. Perhaps Tuesdays would work etc. THIS IS NEVER DONE MORE THAN ONCE A YEAR UNLESS THERE IS A COMPLAINT.

We offer free training for your Captain and Crew for emergency proceedures, coping with passengers to make sure they come back, and more. The USCG has sited MMCA with the most well trained crews they have seen in a LONG time. This helps reduce your exposure to liability and keeps you out of court (See the news article on www.skilledboating.com). This is FREE once your business is approved. We do expect a certain level of training by all employers that are approved, this is the fastest, easiest way to maintain that.
